God is happy with very little
This story teaches us that God is happy with very little.
Story
Rohan, a seven-year-old, had a room filled with all kinds of toys. He always insisted on getting new toys from his mom and dad.
His parents were troubled by Rohan's habit. To teach him, his mother told him a story.
Let's listen to that story.
This story is from the Mahabharata. When the Pandavas were in exile, Sage Durvasa arrived at their cottage with his disciples.
Sage Durvasa, said to Yudhishthira, the elder brother of the Pandavas, "First, we will bathe in the river, and then we shall have our meal."
Yudhishthira told this to his wife, Draupadi. Worried, Draupadi said, "But there is no food left! What will we feed them? Now only Krishna can help us."
Draupadi explained all her troubles to Krishna. Krishna told Draupadi to bring a pot for food. In the pot, there was only one grain of rice left. Krishna ate that one grain of rice.
As soon as Krishna ate the grain, a miracle happened! Sage Durvasa and all his disciples' hunger was miraculously satisfied. He left with their disciples, having been fed.
"So, Rohan, you see how God became satisfied with just one grain of rice. And he also relieved Sage Durvasa and his disciples' hunger. Just as God becomes content with less, we should also try to be happy with less. Because there is no end to greed/desire," said the mother.
