Tara’s Garden
The story teaches that being positive, loving, and believing in good things can make life happier and more beautiful.

Story
It was a bright morning. Tara and her grandfather were sitting in the garden. Their beautiful garden had flowers of all colours, but Tara looked sad as she stared at her flowerbed.
“Daada Ji,” she sighed, “why do my flowers always hang down and bend? I water them, but they never grow as big and bright as the ones in your flowerbed!”
Daada Ji smiled gently and walked over to Tara’s flowerbed. He pointed to her flowers. “Do you talk to them, Tara?”

Tara wrinkled her nose. “Talk to my flowers? They’re just plants, Daada Ji. They won’t understand me.”
Daada Ji laughed quietly. “Ah, but they do, in their own way. They do listen to you and reply as well. Let me tell you something: Yat bhavo tat bhavati. It means, ‘As you feel or believe, so it becomes.’ Your surroundings respond to the way you feel from inside.”
Tara tilted her head, confused. “What does that have to do with my flowers?”
Daada Ji knelt beside her. “If you feel love, happiness, and care when you’re with your flowers, they will feel it too. And they’ll bloom beautifully. But if you’re sad or frustrated, they might not feel very happy either. Why don’t we try an experiment?”
Tara’s eyes lit up. She loved experiments! “What do we do?”
“Every morning,” Daada Ji said, “when you water your flowers, tell them something nice. Say, ‘You’re beautiful!’ or ‘Grow big and strong!’ Smile and imagine them blooming. Do this for a week.”
Tara nodded excitedly and started the very next day. She greeted her flowers with a big smile. “Good morning, flowers! You’re the prettiest flowers ever!” She watered them carefully and even sang a happy song for them.
As the days passed, Tara noticed something magical. Her flowers stood taller, their petals brighter than ever before. By the end of the week, her flowerbed looked as lovely as Daada ji’s!

“Daada Ji!” Tara exclaimed, running to him. “It worked! My flowers are blooming!”
Daada Ji smiled. “That’s because you gave them your love and happiness. Remember, Tara, yat bhavo tat bhavati. When you think and feel good, good things happen.”
Your thoughts and feelings shape your world. Be kind, positive, and loving, and you’ll see beauty grow around you—just like Tara’s flowers!
