Krishna, also known as Bihariji, is loved for his playful nature, great courage, and deep wisdom. As a child, he was full of mischief, he used to steal butter for his friend and make everyone happy with his playfulness. But he was also very brave—he lifted a whole mountain to protect his people! When Arjun was confused in battle, Krishna gave him wise advice. His stories teach us to be joyful, strong, and wise, like Krishna or Bihariji.

1. Bihari ke Dohe
कोऊ कोटिक संग्रहौ, कोऊ लाख हजार।
मो संपति जदुपति सदा, बिपति-बिदारनहार॥
Kou kotik sangrahou, kou lakh hajaar. Mo sampati jadupati sada, bipati-bidaranahaar.
Meaning:
This Doha says, some gather crores of wealth, some gather things. But the true wealth is getting the blessing of Shri Krishna by showing him our true love and devotion; he always cares about us and helps us overcome all difficulties.
Lesson for Kids:
Imagine a child who has a lot of toys but is still not happy and another child who doesn't have many toys but has a true friend who plays with him, helps him solve his problems, and always keeps him happy. Likewise, for a true devotee, his real wealth is his God, whom he values more than material wealth.
Dear children, we should value love, friendship, and inner peace over toys, chocolate, clothes, and other material things.
2. Bihari ke Dohe
या अनुरागी चित्त की, गति समुझै नहिं कोइ।
ज्यौं-ज्यौं बूड़ै स्याम रँग, त्यौं-त्यौं उज्जलु होई॥
Yaa anuraagi chitta ki, gati samujhai nahin ko
Jyaun-jyaun boodai Shyam rang, tyaun-tyaun ujjalu hoi.
Meaning:
This doha praises a heart full of love and devotion for Bihari ji. Just like how a cloth becomes brighter and more beautiful as it soaks deeper into a colour, the heart becomes purer and more radiant as it deepens in devotion to Bhagwan Krishna.
Lesson for kids:
Dear kids, when you add bright colours to your drawing, it becomes brighter and more beautiful. Similarly, when we pray to God with love and devotion, our hearts become purer and happier, and this purity and honesty is reflected in our work and behaviour. So, do your work with honesty and always be connected to God.
3. Bihari ke Dohe
संपति केस, सुदेस नर नवत, दुहुति इक बानि।
विभव सतर कुच, नीच नर, नरम विभव की हानि॥
Sampati kes, sudes nar navat, duhuti ik baani.
Vibhav satar kuch, neech nar, naram vibhav ki haani.
Meaning:
This Doha says that the wealth and status of a person may make them humble or proud. People with good qualities and high positions may become humble when they gain wealth or recognition. But those who are arrogant and proud become humble when they lose their power or wealth.
Lesson for kids:
Think of two kids in a race; they both won a shiny medal. Both of them were proud and happy and shared their happiness with their family and friends. Despite a good win, the first kid remained humble and polite with everyone, but the second child became arrogant and didn't behave well. They both participate in another race in which they both lose; the first child is still calm and well-behaved, but the second child gets very upset and becomes unconfident.
4. Bihari ke Dohe
मोहन-मूरति स्याम की, अति अद्भुत गति जोइ।
बसतु सु चित-अंतर तऊ, प्रतिबिंबितु जग होइ॥
Mohan-murti Shyam ki, ati adbhut gati joi.
Basatu su chit-antar tau, pratibimbitu jag hoi.
Meaning:
This doha of Bihariji praises his inner and outer beauty. The form of Krishna is so wonderful that it cannot be fully understood by anyone. Though he resides in the heart of his devotees, his presence can be felt in every small and big thing of the world.
Lesson for kids:
Dear children, when the Sun shines, its light gets reflected by every object it falls on. When our hearts are filled with love and honesty, it gets reflected in our studies, games, or everything we do. So connect with Krishna and fill your hearts with love and truth to shine bright.
5. Bihari ke Dohe
जगतु जनायौ जिहिं सकलु, सो हरि जान्यौं नाँहि।
ज्यौं आँखिनु सबु देखियै, आँखि न देखी जाँहिं॥
Jagatu janayo jihim sakalu, so Hari janyau naahi.
Jyaun aankhinu sabu dekhiyai, aankhi na dekhi jaahi.
Meaning
This Doha says that God created the entire world for us to experience, but it is very difficult to experience him. Just as the eyes can see everything but cannot see themselves, in the same way, we can see the world made by God but cannot see God himself if we lack wisdom.
This verse explains that God is beyond the reach of our senses; we can only experience his presence with a deeper understanding.
Lesson for kids
Imagine you are playing outside on a windy day. You can feel the wind blowing against your face and see the leaves moving, but you can't see the wind itself. Similarly, God is always present, but we can't see Him with our eyes. We can only feel His presence in the love, kindness, and goodness around us.
Children, just because we can't see something doesn't mean it isn't real—we experience it in different ways.
