1. Doha
जल में कुंभ कुंभ में जल है, बाहर भीतर पानी।
फूटा कुंभ जल जल ही समाया, यही तथ्य कथ्यो ज्ञानी।।
Jal mein kumbh kumbh mein jal hai, baahar bheetar paani.
Foota kumbh jal jal hi samaya, yahi tathya kathyo gyani.
Meaning
Kabir says that we and God are one. The different things in the world have different names and forms, but at the core of everything is the same God.
2. Doha
पानी में मीन प्यासी रे।
मुझे सुन सुन आवे हासी रे॥
Paani mein meen pyaasi re.
Mujhe sun sun aave haasi re.
Meaning
Kabir Das says that people do not recognize the God or truth that is present all around them. They search for God somewhere far away, even though He is close to them.

3. Doha
बोली एक अनमोल है, जो कोई बोलै जानि।
हिये तराजू तौल के, तब मुख बाहर आनि॥
Boli ek anmol hai, jo koi bolai jani.
Hiye taraazu tol ke, tab mukh baahar aani.
Meaning
Kabir Das says that we should speak thoughtfully. Our speech is precious, so we should weigh our words on the scale of the heart to ensure we speak what is right.
4. Doha
कस्तूरी कुंडल बसे, मृग ढूंढे वन माहि।
तैसा घट राम है, दुनिया देखै नाहि॥
Kasturi kundal base, mrig dhoonde van maahi.
Taisa ghat Ram hai, duniya dekhe naahi.
Meaning
Kabir Das says that just as a deer keeps searching in the forest for musk that is actually within its own navel, similarly, people search for God outside when He is within us.

आंखिन देखी बकरि की खाल।
ताकत बलिहारी राम की, सब घट राखन हारी ॥
Aankhin dekhi bakri ki khaal.
Taaqat balihari Ram ki, sab ghat raakhan haari.
Meaning
Kabir Das says that what we see is not always the truth. God's power is invisible, and He takes care of everyone.
6. Doha
झूठे आचरण से, कभी नहीं मिलती प्रीत।
सच्चा मन रखो, तभी होगी सही प्रीत॥
Jhoothe aacharan se, kabhi nahi milti preet.
Saccha man rakho, tabhi hogi sahi preet.
Meaning
Kabir Das says that we should connect with people truthfully and sincerely. God is found in truth.

7. Doha
मन के हिय राम बसे, घट-घट के अंतर।
राम नाम हरि नाम का, लेव को सुमिरन॥
Man ke hiya Ram base, ghat-ghat ke antar.
Ram naam Hari naam ka, lev ko sumiran.
Meaning
Kabir Das says that God resides in our hearts and lives within each person. We should remember God’s name and focus our attention on Him.
8. Doha
गुरु गोविंद दोउ खड़े, काके लागूं पांय।
बलिहारी गुरु आपनो, गोविन्द दियो बताय॥
Guru Govind dou khade, kake lagu paay.
Balihari guru aapno, Govind diyo batay.
Meaning
Kabir Das says that if a teacher and God are standing together, you should bow to the teacher first because it is the teacher who shows you the way to reach God.
9. Doha
धीरे-धीरे रे मना, धीरे सब कुछ होय।
माली सींचे सौ घड़ा, ऋतु आए फल होय॥
Dheere-dheere re mana, dheere sab kuch hoy.
Maali seenche sau ghada, ritu aaye phal hoy.
Meaning
Kabir Das says to be patient, as everything gets done gradually. For instance, even if a gardener waters a tree with a hundred buckets of water, the fruit will still only appear in its own time.
10. Doha
संतोषी सुख की नेव है, लोलुपता दुख कारी।
साधो संतोष करो, नहीं तो होगा भारी॥
Santoshi sukh ki nev hai, lolupata dukh kaari.
Sadho santosh karo, nahin to hoga bhaari.
Meaning
Kabir Das says that happiness lies in contentment, and greed is the cause of sorrow. We should be content; otherwise, troubles may increase.
