Meerabai ke Pad

Mirabai was a 16th-century poet and a true devotee of Bhagwan Krishna. She was born into a royal family, but she valued love and devotion over wealth. Mirabai expressed her devotion to Bhagwan Krishna through beautiful hymns called Pad. Her poems and verses, written in simple language, highlight the importance of faith, love, and surrender. Despite facing many challenges, she always followed the path of devotion and truth. Mirabai's life teaches us to stay strong in our beliefs, in every situation.

myNachiketa presents 5 Mirabai's Pad for children, along with their simple meanings. These Pad awaken love and devotion for God in our hearts.

Meaning

In this Pad, Mirabai expresses her deep love for God. She says that without being close to God, she cannot find peace or happiness. She will always serve him and keep him close to her heart. Mirabai explains that this world is like an ocean filled with evil, and her life is like a boat trapped in it. She prays to God, saying, "O Krishna! My boat is broken, so please set the sails, or else I will drown." Mirabai humbly asks God for his darshan (vision) and seeks to be taken into his protection.

5. Pad

Koi kahiye re prabhu aavan ki

Aap na aavai likh nahin bhejai

Baan padhi laluchavan ki

E dou nain kahiyo nahin maanai

Meaning

In this Pad, Mirabai requests people to inform her if they have any news of her God's arrival. She expresses her sorrow, saying that he neither comes to meet her nor sends any message about his visit. Instead, he just lures her from a distance. She complains that her eyes do not listen to her and are constantly shedding tears. Mirabai wishes she had wings so she could fly and reach her God. Once again, she prays to Shri Krishna, asking Him not to tease her anymore and to bless her with his presence.
