Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru said, "I may not have time for adults, but I have enough time for children".
Warm greetings to everyone!
Today, we have come together to celebrate one of the most delightful occasions of the year—Children's Day. This day celebrates the innocence, creativity, and potential of our society's youngest members: children.
Children’s Day is celebrated on 14th November every year in India. It is the birth anniversary of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, our country’s first Prime Minister. He was also called Chacha Nehru because of his deep love and affection for children.
Children’s Day reminds us of the importance of childhood. It is a reminder to ensure good education, health, and safety for every child. Every child deserves the chance to reach their full potential, to dream big, and to be supported in those dreams.
Children's Day reminds parents, teachers, and caregivers to give every child the unconditional love, care, and support they need to grow up to be responsible and kind adults.
Pandit Nehru believed that children are the true strength and future of a nation. He laid great importance to their education and well-being. His vision was to see every child flourish with opportunities and dreams.
Pandit Nehru firmly believed in the power of education and wanted a good education for all children. He strongly believed that education had the power to transform the lives of every child.
On Children's Day, children should pledge to inherit in themselves the qualities of inspiring kids like Nachiketa, a young boy who showed great wisdom and courage. He bravely asked some important questions to Yamraj and gained wisdom.
Bhagwan Krishna, as a child, was full of joy, curiosity, and mischief. He loved to play with his friends, take care of them, and protect them from problems. Children should learn the value of friendship and love from him.
Another great example is Meerabai who showed one centred devotion towards Bhagwan Krishna since her childhood. Children should learn from her to stay focused on their goals and dedicatedly work to achieve them.
Children's Day is a time to help our children adopt these qualities which will help them in living a meaningful and purposeful life.
On this Children’s Day, I encourage all children to go to school, learn, ask questions, and work hard for excellence. A good education plays an important role in a child's growth and development. So every child must go to school get educated develop lifelong friendships, learn from their mistakes, and discover their true passions.
This day is celebrated in schools with great fun and enthusiasm. Special assemblies or cultural programs featuring songs, dances, and skits performed by students. Fun games and competitions, such as sports events, quizzes, or talent shows, are held to engage students and strengthen teamwork. Some schools give sweets or stationery to students as Children's Day gifts.
Children's Day is a celebration of the joy that children bring into everyone’s life. We should all work together to create a brighter and more compassionate future for all children. We should provide all kinds of platforms for their growth, development, and learning so that they can reach their full potential.
I want to conclude with another beautiful quote by Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru:
“The children of today will make the India of tomorrow. The way we bring them up will determine the future of the country.”
Thank you, and Happy Children’s Day to all!
