 6. No discrimination

According to the teachings of Guru Nanak Dev Ji one must not discriminate among people and should treat everybody alike. From this we learn that all human beings are equal and we should not differentiate between caste, colour and social status.

7. Devotion and surrender to God

Guru Nanak Ji said that doing good things like giving to charity, and making offerings is nice, but what really matters is loving and remembering God with all your heart. Imagine you’re always doing chores for your family, but you don’t spend any time with them or show them that you care. Even though you’re doing good things, it’s the love and time you spend with them that truly makes them happy.

8. Do not be greedy, untrue and do not bad mouth others

Teachings of Guru Nanak Ji say that talking bad about others, being untruthful and being greedy are the most dangerous evils of our personality. He said one should never be greedy and selfish, rather be helpful to others and share what you have with your friends and family. We should never speak bad about others, that leads to bad karma (good or bad actions that we do) and moves us away from God.
